After browsing through a bunch of public domain media I had the idea of making photomanipulations of the people in moments that captured my interest. Some are from old movies and others are old photographs. Using a program called Inskape I was able to make large representations of screenshots from the movie. They are not meant to be perfect by standarts of digital sharpness. They are abstract art pieces that convey an experience involving people. I used methods in Adobe Photoshop to add color and lines. The result is a scene shot and an interpretive creative composition melded into one.
Inksape is a vector art program I use often to make a less detailed image (png, jpg etc) into a changed representation that is much larger. I them work with this larger image by means of creative photomanipulation. https://inkscape.org/en/
